H&M’s new baby is all set to come out and when they announced early this year that they will be launching a new clothing and lifestyle brand called Arket, everyone obviously freaked out. The new Arket H&M store will make its debut in London this fall and open others later this year. The new store will have products from Arket’s own brand along with a variety of non- H&M brands such as, Adidas, Nike and Reebok. Arket’s collection consist of products that are very chic, include elegant silhouettes and plenty of wardrobe essentials. The products will be a little more expensive than H&M’s existing products, they will range from $45 to $130. The brand plans to sell products for women, men, children and home. We have also heard there will be a café in the store. So basically if you fall in love with this retailer and enjoy food and drinks that are super healthy well then you might just never need to leave the place.
So, what does Arket meaning exactly? In Swedish is means ‘sheet of paper’ :“It both relates to our origin in the Nordic tradition of functional, long-lasting design and symbolises the blank sheet, the sense of optimism and possibility we felt creating this new brand,” says Ulrika Bernhardtz, Creative Director.
Arket H&M: First Look Into Their New Clothing Brand
Their quirky and futuristic concept has made everyone go crazy over H&M’s new brand. They use fabrics for their clothes in a clever way in that it has different weights to fit the temperature of that specific season which are Japanese-made materials designed to last longer. The range includes products like a classic Breton T-shirt, cashmere jumpers and tailored white shirts and trouser suits.
Fashion Director Natalie Hartley said: “I love the collection – it feels luxurious but understated. You can get your staples here as well as pieces with unique design but for the right price. At the same time you can match your wardrobe to your home, with interiors pieces that are affordable and design led. ARKET is not just a trend-led fashion house, it’s a new way of shopping.”
The forward thinking brand has incorporated a lot quirky elements to it, each garment comes with an ID code. These codes are there so that it’s easy for customers to find the exact same style in different materials or vice versa within the store. The code includes information such has the garment’s department, category, product and material. They are focusing more on basic items we need rather than following the trends and changing the collection quickly. The aim is that the items should last for a long time, it also fits another theme of theirs of being sustainable and producing timeless basics. Their first images are out, get the first look of what Arket H&M is going to be all about below and fall in love with this brand that is clearly inspired by a minimalist design.
